Fabius Optimistic about Atmosphere of Mutual Trust between Iran, Powers
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian foreign minister and his French counterpart in a meeting in Munich exchanged views on bilateral relations between Tehran and Paris, and the latest developments in nuclear negotiations between Iran and six world powers.
During the meeting held on the sidelines of Munich Security Conference, Mohammad Javad Zarif and Lauran Fabius studied potentials for the two countries' economic and technical cooperation.
Zarif, for his part, said the Geneva deal between Iran and the Group 5+1 (the five permanent UN Security Council members plus Germany) has provided "exceptional opportunity" for the two countries' interests and the utilization of the existing potentials.
The French minister, too, said that the deal reached in Geneva with Iran was of great significance.
He expressed the hope that the two negotiating parties could take effective steps to prepare "atmosphere of mutual trust".
The two top diplomats also studied the latest regional developments, particularly the latest conditions in Afghanistan, Syria and Lebanon.
That is while a team of French entrepreneurs met Iranian business leaders on Monday on one of the biggest foreign trade missions to visit Tehran since the Islamic Republic won an easing of some economic sanctions.
The delegation of more than 100 executives from the French Medef bosses' association, on a Feb 2-5 trip, will meet members of Iran’s Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture.
