Iran's Tractor Sazi Beats Saudi Al Ittihad in ACL

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Tractor Sazi of Iran defeated Al Ittihad of Saudi Arabia in its first AFC Champions League match on Wednesday.

In the match held in Iran's northwestern city of Tabriz’s Yadegar-e Emam Stadium in Group C, Tractor Sazi defeated the Saudi Arabian representative 1-0.

Karim Ansarifard dribbled past two defenders and scored a wonderful goal in the 82nd minute.

Tractor Sazi iconic midfielder Ali Karimi was sent off by referee Kwok Man Liu‎ after received his second yellow card in the 60th minute.

"Tractor Sazi played very well, specially in the first half because we controlled the match," Tractor Sazi coach Oliveira said in the post match news conference.

"I think we deserved the win. Our players did their best and we earned a sweet victory," the Portuguese added.

Last night, Iran’s Esteghalal was defeated by Al Shabab of Saudi Arabia in its home game and Foolad was held to a goalless draw by El Jaish in Doha.
