Hamas Politburo Chief Mashaal to Visit Tehran Soon
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Khaled Mashaal, the head of Hamas Political Bureau, is slated to pay a visit to Iran soon, media reports said on Sunday.
Khaled Mashaal, the head of Hamas’s political bureau, will visit Iran soon, the movement confirmed, UAE emirates24/7 reported.
Hamas used to be heavily backed by Iran but the relations between Tehran and the Palestinian Islamic resistance group were strained for the past two years because of the Syrian crisis.
According to the UAE sources, some Hamas officials, who are in Tehran now, are preparing the ground for Mashaal’s upcoming visit to Tehran.
Mashaal who led the Hamas Political Bureau in Damascus was urged to leave for Doha, and is expected to ask the Iranian officials to establish an office in Tehran, the report said.
