Siamand Rahman Claims IPC Powerlifting World Championship Gold
TEHRAN (Tasnim)– Iran’s Siamand Rahman won a gold medal in the +107 kg weight category of the IPC Powerlifting World Championship in Dubai, the UAE on Friday.
Paralympic gold medal winner Rahman seized a gold medal and set a new world record of 285.5 kg.
Iran’s Mansour Pourmirzaei won the silver with a lift of 265 kg.
Faris Al Ajeeli from Iraq won a bronze medal with 240 kg.
In youth section, Iran’s Meysam Motaghian won the gold medal.
The 2014 IPC Powerlifting World Championships, held from April 5 to 11 in the UAE, brought over 330 athletes from nearly 60 countries together.
