Iranian Mountaineer Azim Gheichisaz Conquers Shishapangma
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iranian mountaineer Azim Gheichisaz conquered Tibet’s Mount Shishapangma, the world's fourteen highest peaks, at 8,013 meters, on Thursday.
He had already climbed 12 of the world's 8000 meter plus mountains.
Gheichisaz is going to conquer Lhotse, the fourth highest mountain, to become the first Iranian climbing all 14 of the world's 8000 meter plus mountains.
The eight-thousanders are the 14 independent mountains on Earth that are more than 8,000 meters high above sea level. All eight-thousanders are located in the Himalayan and Karakoram mountain ranges in Asia.
