Iran, Slovenia Discuss Promoting Energy Ties

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Slovenian Parliament Speaker Janko Veber, who is in Tehran for an official visit, met on Sunday with Iranian energy and oil ministers to discuss a range of issues, including mutual cooperation and energy supply from Iran.

Iran's Deputy Energy Minister Houshang Falahatian said during a meeting on Sunday morning, the visiting Slovenian official and Iranian Energy Minister Hamid Chitchian, discussed ways to use the two countries’ capabilities “to set up power plants and electricity transmission lines and construct protective relays used in power stations and the other equipment that is used in  substations.”

Veber also met with Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh on Sunday and exchanged views on various issues, including the possibility of gas supply from Iran.

Earlier on Saturday, the Slovenia parliament speaker met with his Iranian counterpart, Ali Larijani, and explored avenues for the expansion of bilateral relations between the two countries. 

During the meeting, Veber highlighted Iran’s economic and political significance in the world, and said Ljubljana is set to forge stronger ties with Tehran.
