Rouhani Congratulates Iran’s Greco-Roman Wrestlers on Winning World Cup
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani congratulated the country's national wrestling team on winning the title of the 2014 Greco-Roman World Cup in Tehran.
On Friday, Iran defeated Russia 6-2 in the final match of the 2014 Greco-Roman World Cup and won the title.
“Winning the title of the Greco-Roman World Cup demonstrates determination and magnanimity of the brave wrestlers. I sincerely congratulate them,” the president said in his message on Friday.
“I pay tribute to the managers, coaches, others who helped the team to earn the victory and specially wrestlers. I congratulate the wrestlers, their respectable families, the sports community and the Iranian honorable nation and I pray to God for more victories and pride for all champions and athletes,” Rouhani added.
