AEOI Chief Stresses Industrial Use of Lasers
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi underlined that getting advantage of laser technologies is necessary to boost the country’s progress.
In a message to the 3rd Conference on Lasers and their Applications held in Tehran on Wednesday, Salehi praised the event as a sign of a modern approach in the Iranian nuclear industy towards the expansion of scientific and research ties in a bid to boost cooperation among national scientific centers and organizations.
“At present, the use of laser has a special role to advance objectives of industrial development,” Salehi said in the message.
Since the 1960s, laser technology has spawned a multi-billion dollar industry.
Lasers now affect everyday life and are widely used in the industrial, military and scientific fields.
Laser technology has also made its way in the nuclear industry, for example for the uranium enrichment.
