My Players Did Well, Iran Coach Slobodan Kovac Says

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran national volleyball team coach Slobodan Kovac said that his players showed a good performance against Puerto Rico.

In the penultimate game in pool D of the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship, Iran beat Puerto Rico 3-0 (25-17, 25-22, 25-14).

“I think it's normal that after victory against Belgium, we played good. I'm happy because I had spoken about mentality of my team and was afraid of this match, but my players played excellent,” Kovac told poland2014.fivb.org in the post match news conference.

“They've had 16 kill blocks in three sets that give you a clear idea about the game. We worked hard during the World League for this World Championship and this is the result,” he added.

Iran will play Australia on Wednesday in the second round of the competition.

Slobodan Kovac’s men Iran will also have to play Argentina, Poland and Serbia in Pool E.
