Iran's Soulmaz Abbasi Bags Bronze in Lightweight Single Sculls

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran's Soulmaz Abbasi Azad claimed a bronze medal at the lightweight women's single sculls rowing at the Incheon Asian Games on Thursday.

The Iranian rower finished in 8 minutes, 10.53 seconds to win bronze.

South Korea's Ji Yoo-jin won gold at 8 minutes, 1 second in the final race at Chungju Tangeum Lake International Rowing Center, south of Incheon, outpacing Hong Kong's Lee Ka Man by 5.6 seconds.

Some 9,500 athletes from 45 countries are competing at the Games, the world's second-biggest multi-sport event after the summer Olympics, with 439 gold medals in 36 sports up for grabs.

Iran has participated in the games with 276 athletes in 22 sports.
