Asian Girls' U-17 Volleyball Championship: Iran Loses to S. Korea

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran was defeated against South Korea in straight sets (25–10, 25–17, 25–13) in the Asian Girls' U-17 Volleyball Championship on Monday.

Iran has started the campaign with a 3-0 defeat against Chinese Taipei.

The Iranian outfit has been scheduled to play Kazakhstan on Thursday.

After three days of the group round-robin preliminaries on Monday, top two teams from each pool will advance to compete in the round of last eight teams, while the lower-ranked sides will be relegated to play in the consolation 9th-13th round.

The continent’s top-flight tournament will run through October 19, with only top four from the championship clinching berths to compete in the next year’s FIVB World Girls’ U-18 Volleyball Championship in Cyprus.
