Iranian Official Urges Utilization of Potential for Sustainable Ties with Senegal
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Morteza Sarmadi and the visiting adviser and special envoy of Senegalese president, Tanor Dieng, held talks on a whole host of issues, including avenues for promoting bilateral relations.
In the meeting held in Tehran on Sunday, Sarmadi pointed to the Islamic Republic’s scientific and industrial advances, and said the existing potential should be used for improving durable relations with Senegal.
He also voiced Tehran’s preparedness to boost mutual cooperation with the west African country on the international issues.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Iranian official touched upon the country’s stances on international issues, including the issue of terrorism and the Israeli regime’s atrocities against the Palestinian people.
He pointed to the complexity of the regional and international developments, and deplored the irresponsibility shown by some countries toward issues such as terrorism.
The Senegalese special envoy, for his part, hailed Iran’s rich civilization and culture, and emphasized Tehran's significant role in resolving regional issues.
Dieng also asked collective contribution of the world countries for confronting terrorism and the outbreak of Ebola in Africa.
