Moroccan King Congratulates Rouhani on Islamic Revolution Anniversary

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Moroccan King Mohammed VI congratulated the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution and announced his readiness to facilitate restoration of ties with Tehran.

In his message, the Moroccan King said resumption of the ties in common grounds serves the interests of the two friendly countries and strengthens solidarity among Islamic countries.

He further congratulated Rouhani and the Iranian nation on the anniversary of Islamic Revolution’s victory, al-Quds al-Arabi newspaper reported.

The Moroccan king also wished health and success for Rouhani, and progress and prosperity for the Iranian nation.

Earlier in December 2014, Iran appointed an ambassador to Morocco, nearly six years after diplomatic relations between the two countries were severed at the instigation of Moroccan king.

Ongoing contacts between the two countries’ foreign ministers since February 2014 suggest that Morocco will soon reciprocate and name its own ambassador.
