Iran to Participate in IBSA World Championships

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran will take part at the 5th IBSA World Championships and Games in South Korea.

The IBSA World Championships and Games are an international multi-sport event, occurring every four years, organized by the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA). The events enable blind and partially sighted sportspeople to compete in a number of sports.

A total of 37 athletes will represent Iran in the event which will be held in Seoul, South Korea from May 8 to 18.

The 5th IBSA World Championships and Games will include competitions in Powerlifting, Judo, Goalball, Football, Chess, Tenpin Bowling, Tandem Cycling, Swimming, Showdown and Athletics. The events will be held in Seoul, South Korea from May 8 to 18.

Iran will participate in five events namely, powerlifting, goalball, judo and athletics.

The competitions in athletics, swimming, goalball and judo are part of the qualification process for the Paralympic Games.

The last edition was hosted in Antalaya, Turkey, with more than 1,100 athletes from 71 countries in attendance.
