Esteghlal Held by Malavan in Iran Professional League
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Esteghlal football team was held to a 1-1 draw against Malavan in the Iranian Professional League (IPL) on Friday.
Esteghlal veteran striker, Reza Enayati, gave the visiting team a lead in the 16th minute and Mohammad Hossein Kananizadegan equalized the match two minute into the second half.
Esteghlal is facing an uphill task to win the IPL title, falling seven points behind leader Tractor Sazi.
Elsewhere, rock-bottom Rah Ahan drew with Esteghlal Khuzestan 2-2, Padideh beat Gostaresh Foolad 2-1 and Saba and Paykan played out a goalless draw.
