Iran's Pavilion Opens in Expo 2015
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran officially opened its special pavilion in the ongoing Expo 2015, which started on May 1 in Milan, Italy, in a bid to introduce Iranian products to foreign investors.
Iran's pavilion was launched in a special ceremony attended by Iran's Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh, the country's Ambassador to Rome Jahanbakhsh Mozaffari, and a number of other officials.
Expo Milan 2015, which will run until October 31, 2015, is a global, cultural, educational and scientific event which gathers countries, organizations and communities in one place to showcase the best of their technology.
By opening a special pavilion in this year's Expo in Milan, Iran has provided a good opportunity for foreign visitors, investors, and tourists to learn about its products.
With an area of 1,950 square meters, the pavilion, constructed on two levels, has been inspired by the concept of Iranian Sofreh (a square piece of fabric similar to tablecloth).
With an expected 20 million visitors in 1.1 million square meters of the exhibition area, Expo Milan serves as a significant opportunity to attract more foreign tourists to Iran.
The first Expo was held in London in 1851, and its success prompted other countries to organize similar events such as the Paris Expo in 1889, memorable for its Eiffel Tower. Each Expo is dedicated to a topic of universal interest. Expo 2015 will embody the theme of Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life.
