US After "New Ruses" in Drafting Iran Nuclear Deal: Speaker
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran's parliament speaker warned of deceptive practices by the Americans in the process of drafting a comprehensive deal on Tehran's peaceful nuclear program, saying that they have excessive demands and seek to act beyond the internationally-accepted regulations.
Addressing a cultural ceremony in Tehran on Friday, Ali Larijani said the US and other arrogant powers are thinking of new ploys and making excessive demands in the course of preparing a final nuclear deal with Iran while Tehran has taken the negotiations seriously and agreements have been reached on principles.
He underlined that nobody has the right to come up with new extraordinary criteria in the international regulations when it comes to monitoring Iran's civilian nuclear program.
The comments came in response to the West's insistence on inspection of Iran's military sites under a comprehensive nuclear deal with Tehran.
Back on Wednesday, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei stressed that Iran will not allow the inspection of its military sites.
The Supreme Leader also ruled out granting any requests for interviews with Tehran's nuclear scientists, and described it as an instance of "interrogation".
"I would not let foreigners come (here) and talk to the Iranian nation's dear scientists... who have expanded this wide knowledge to this stage," Imam Khamenei underlined.
Iran and Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) have been negotiating to hammer out a lasting accord that would end more than a decade of impasse over Tehran's peaceful nuclear program.
On April 2, the two sides reached a framework nuclear agreement after more than a week of intensive negotiations in Lausanne, Switzerland, with both sides committed to push for a final, comprehensive accord until the end of June.
