Cleric Urges Vigilance on Loopholes for Breach of Iran Nuclear Deal
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A top Iranian cleric called on the country’s authorities to carefully monitor the ways the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) may opt for to violate its commitments under a final nuclear deal with Tehran.
Delivering a speech to worshippers in Tehran on Friday, Ayatollah Kazem Seddiqi said that logic and insight dictate that Iran should monitor the enemies to prevent any procedures they might adopt for breaching their commitments.
He also warned against haste, confusion or excitement in dealing with the nuclear issue and the finalized text of a lasting accord, saying one should not imagine that all doors are now open to Iran.
Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) on July 14 finalized the text of a lasting nuclear deal that would terminate all anti-Iran sanctions after taking effect. The United Nations Security Council also unanimously passed a resolution afterwards, endorsing the comprehensive accord.
Following the conclusion of the nuclear talks in Vienna, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei had asked the Iranian officials to block the way for any “possible breach” of undertakings stipulated in the text of the agreement.
The final text of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) must be carefully examined and pass though “the predicted legal channels”, the Leader said in response to a letter by President Hassan Rouhani.
“We are well aware that some of the six states in the opposite side are not trustworthy at all,” the Leader underscored.
