Iran's Sadeghzadeh Wins at IPC Powerlifting Asian Open Championships

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Ali Sadeghzadeh from Iran claimed a silver medal at the ongoing IPC Powerlifting Asian Open Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

On Wednesday, the Iranian representative lifted 234kg in the Men's Up to 107kg and won a silver medal.

Azerbaijani Elshan Huseynov won the gold medal by lifting 242kg.

The bronze medal went to Pavlos Mamalos from Greece with 233kg.

Iranian Amir Jafari Arangeh has already won a gold medal in the Men’s Up to 59kg.

Majid Farzin has also claimed a gold in the Men's Up to 80kg.

The Almaty 2015 IPC Powerlifting Asian Open Championships will run until July 30 and feature more than 220 athletes from 32 countries in one of the biggest Asian Championships ever.
