Iran Wants Better Situation for Contractors in Iraq
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif called for the settlement of problems of Iranian contractors in neighboring Iraq as part of efforts to boost economic ties between the two countries.
In a meeting with Iraq’s Minister of Finance Hoshyar Zebari in Tehran on Sunday, Zarif voiced Iran’s preparedness to strengthen economic and commercial relations with the Arab country.
To that end, Zarif called for efforts to simplify trade interaction between the two countries and resolve the problems that Iranian contractors face in Iraq.
The visiting Iraqi minister, for his part, hailed developing ties with Iran.
Zebari also congratulated the Iranian government for its success in nuclear talks with the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany).
Iran and the six powers on July 14 reached a conclusion on a lasting nuclear agreement that would terminate all sanctions imposed on Tehran over its nuclear energy program after coming into force.
The promising prospect of trade with Iran has prompted many countries to explore the market potential in the populous Middle East nation.
