President Highlights Opportunities in Iran for Spanish Investors

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani invited the Spanish private sector to seize the ample investment opportunities in Iran following the conclusion of nuclear talks between Tehran and six world powers.

In a meeting with Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo in Tehran on Monday, President Rouhani said Iran’s market is ready to host Spanish companies.

Iran welcomes the presence of foreign investors and entrepreneurs under the new circumstances ushered in by the Vienna nuclear talks, the president added.

He said there exist numerous grounds in Iran for cooperation on energy, oil, gas and downstream industries, infrastructures, academic and scientific fields, research work and tourism.

For his part, the Spanish diplomat said his country can work as a bridge for the transfer of Iran’s natural gas to Europe.

Garcia-Margallo also noted that Spanish steel firms are fully prepared to start business in Iran, expressing the hope that establishment of a joint commission between the two countries would help identify the full potential for mutual cooperation.

Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) on July 14 reached a conclusion on a lasting nuclear agreement that would terminate all sanctions imposed on Tehran over its nuclear energy program after coming into force.

The promising prospect of trade with Iran has prompted many countries to explore the market potential in the populous Middle East nation.
