Iran’s Khodabakhshi Clinches Bronze Medal at World Taekwondo Grand Prix

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Mahdi Khodabakhshi of Iran snatched a bronze medal at the 2015 WTF World Taekwondo Grand Prix Series 3 in Manchester on Sunday.

In the men’s -80kg, Khodabakhshi and Cheick Sallah Cisse of Cote d’Ivoire both won bronzes.

In the same weight, Oussama Oueslati of Tunisia defeated Great Britain’s Lutalo Muhammad 16-6 and claimed the gold medal.

Iran’s Abolfazl Yaghoubi had previously claimed a silver medal in the -68kg.

Omid Amidi and Farzan Ashourzadeh also won the bronze medals in the +80kg and -58kg respectively.

A total of 237 athletes from 56 countries competed at the Manchester Regional Arena for top honors in the Manchester Grand Prix event.

The 2015 WTF World Taekwondo Grand Prix Final is schedule to take place on December 5-6, 2015 in Mexico City, Mexico.
