Khalvandi Wins Iran’s First Medal at IPC Athletics World Championships

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Mohammad Khalvandi of Iran claimed Iran’s first gold medal at the IPC Athletics World Championships underway in Doha, Qatar, on Saturday.

The London 2012 gold medallist seized the gold medal of men’s javelin F57 with a throw of 43.76m.

Syria’s Mohamad Mohamad (41.85m) took silver, one place ahead of Brazil’s Claudiney Batista dos Santos (41.70m).

Iran’s Sajad Mohammadian (shot put F42), Ali Mohammadyari (discus throw F56 ) and Saman Pakbaz (shot put F12) have previously won three silver medals and Mohsen Kaedi claimed a bronze medal at javelin F34.
