Austrian Airlines Expands Flight Service to Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Austrian Airlines is increasing its flight service to Iran as Tehran is regaining its previous position in the global market following the landmark nuclear deal clinched between the Islamic Republic and six world powers in the Austrian city of Vienna.

“We are receiving clear signals of a revival in economic relations between Austria and Iran from the business community and political decision makers," said Andreas Otto, Chief Commercial Officer of Austrian Airlines, Aviation Tribune reported early on Saturday.

“Here we wanted to react quickly,” he added.

The report added that Austrian Airlines will also offer one additional daily flight to Tehran starting on March 11, 2016.

As a result, Austria’s national carrier will be departing from Vienna up to twice a day to head for the Iranian capital.

Flights will be operated to Tehran deploying an Airbus 320.

An Austrian delegation led by President Heinz Fischer first visited Iran in September of this year after the nuclear deal was signed in July.

The deal would terminate all nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Iran after coming into force.
