Senior Afghan Lawmaker Due in Iran Saturday

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Heading a parliamentary delegation, the prominent Afghan lawmaker Ghulam Mohiuddin Munsif will pay a 4-day official visit to Iran later this week.

Munsif, who is the head of Parliamentary Commission for Legislative, Justice and Judiciary Affairs in the Afghan House of Elders, will lead a delegation of lawmakers in his Iran visit.

The Afghan delegation will arrive in the Iranian capital on Saturday, November 14.

They are scheduled to meet with a number of Iranian officials and members of parliament to confer on bilateral issues during their 4-day stay in Iran.

The National Assembly, also known as the Afghan Parliament, is Afghanistan's national legislature.

It is a bicameral body, comprising two chambers: Meshrano Jirga or the House of Elders, which is an upper house with 102 seats; and Wolesi Jirga or the House of the People, which is a lower house with 250 seats.
