Former Iran’s Petrochimi Player Wright Found Murdered in New York
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Basketball player Michael Wright was found dead in the backseat of his sport utility vehicle Tuesday morning in Brooklyn, New York.
He was 35 years old.
The player was found dead of a head wound; he was covered with garbage bags, according to police sources. An autopsy is scheduled.
Wright, known also with Turkish name Ali Karadeniz, joined Petrochimi of Iran from Cholet in February.
Wright never caught on in the NBA but spent more than a decade playing professionally overseas.
The former Knicks player also played for teams in Poland, Turkey, France and Germany.
