Saudi-Led Coalition Covering Up Defeats in Yemen: Ansarullah

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Political Council of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement said the Saudi regime and its allies are trying to hide their defeats on the ground in Yemen by releasing a video of ISIL terrorists killing Ansarullah fighters.

In a statement issued by the council, Ansarullah condemned a recent video showing the execution of Houthi Ansarullah fighters, describing it as yet another war crime committed by the Saudi regime, “which will not be the last one.”

In the footage, posted online on Friday, at least 25 Ansarullah fighters are brutally killed by ISIL terrorists in southwestern Yemen.

The timing of the video’s release shows that the aggressors, led by the Saudi regime, are trying to cover up theirs and their mercenaries’ defeats in Yemen and divert attention from the consecutive victories of Yemen’s army troops and popular committees against the Saudi-led coalition, Ansarullah was quoted by the Arabic-language Al-Ahed news website as saying.

“We consider the Saudi-led coalition of aggressors as fully responsible for the actions taken by the ISIL (Daesh) and al-Qaeda terrorist groups in our country, especially in the southern provinces which are controlled by the aggressors and terrorists,” the statement read.

Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the Riyadh-led coalition for more than eight months.

On March 26, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies began to launch deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

According to Yemeni health ministry, more than 7,500 people, mostly civilians, have been killed in the Saudi aggressions.
