Suicide Bomber Kills At Least 10 in Cameroon Mosque

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Two suicide bombers killed at least 10 people in an attack on a mosque in northern Cameroon on Wednesday, officials in the Far North region said, in the latest attack linked to an insurgency by militant group Boko Haram.

About a dozen were wounded in the attack.

Midjiyawa Bakari said Wednesday the attack happened in the town of Kolofata on Cameroon’s border with Nigeria. Bakari said the bombers are believed to have come from Nigeria, crossing over a few days ago, AP reported.

Kolofata has been repeatedly attacked by Boko Haram militants. The extremist group’s six-year insurgency has killed thousands in Nigeria, and across its borders.

Cameroon is one of five countries contributing troops to a regional force intended to wipe out Boko Haram, which became an affiliate of the Islamic State group last year.
