Kerry Urged to Change Approach to Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Fifty US Republicans wrote a letter to Secretary of State John Kerry, calling on him to reconsider his approach to Iran.

“At a critical moment for US foreign policy, we hope that you will reconsider your strategic alignment with the Iranian government and give full support to our Middle Eastern allies,” the lawmakers wrote in the letter to Kerry, The Hill reported on Friday.

They further wrote, “Strategically, this administration has created a scenario where foreign policy decision-making is based solely on justifying the competence of the Iran deal.”

The letter by the GOP lawmakers comes as implementation day of a July nuclear deal between Tehran and the Sextet is expected to come soon.

The letter was spearheaded by Rep. Robert Pittenger (N.C.) and was cosigned by Reps.
