Iran’s Clout beyond Regional Scales: Judiciary Chief

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani said the country’s influence has reached such great magnitude that the world’s big powers feel it necessary to take the Islamic Republic into consideration when dealing with global issues.

“Currently, the extent of influence of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s might goes even beyond the region,” Ayatollah Amoli Larijani said at a meeting of high-ranking judiciary officials in Tehran on Monday.

He then referred to Iran’s missile capabilities as one of the aspects of the country’s progress.

Iran’s military might results from the capabilities of the Armed Forces as a whole, including the Army, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), and the Basij, the top official added.

The Iranian Armed Forces have managed to build a high degree of deterrent power in the country, Ayatollah Amoli Larijani underlined.

Back in September 2015, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani also lauded the country’s increasing clout in the region, saying the role of Tehran in counter-terrorism and regional stability and security is now acknowledged by all parties.

“Iran was previously perceived as the region’s problem, but today it is known as the solution in the region,” he noted.
