Army Commander Vows Harsh Response to Any Malicious Move at Iran’s Borders

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Army Commander Major General Ataollah Salehi said the Islamic Republic would deliver a crushing response to any terrorist group daring to approach its borders and make the slightest move against the country.

“For us, Daesh (terror group) is like a wild dog,” Major General Salehi said on Sunday while paying an official visit to the army’s rapid reaction units stationed in the country’s western border areas.

Iran will easily tackle any moves by the terrorists and respond to their masters as well, he added.

“We are here not only to defend but also to hunt,” the top commander further said referring to recent reports about Daesh (ISIL or ISIS) moves near Iran’s western borders.

Stressing that the Takfiri terrorists will not dare to approach Iran’s borders, he said the country’s forces are fully prepared to give a harsh response to any possible move by enemies.

Iran is considered by many experts as the “island of stability” in a region which faces many security challenges.

In August 2016, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei highlighted the strong security in Iran despite crises and insecurity in the region.

“Thank God, and through the appreciated efforts and endeavors of the military and security forces, the country enjoys a strong security shield while regional countries are filled with incidents and insecurity,” the Leader said.
