Mass Protests Signify Palestinians’ National Resistance: Politician

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The secretary general of the Palestinian National Initiative (PNI) said recent mass protests staged by Palestinians demanding the recognition of the “Right of Return” signaled the formation of Palestine’s national resistance against the Israeli regime.

Speaking to the Tasnim News Agency, Mustafa Barghouti pointed to mass protests held in Gaza last week and said the rallies conveyed three messages to the leaders of the Zionist regime of Israel and the US government.

The first message of the demonstrations was that Palestinians are united and have a consensus about their land and their right to return to the territories occupied by the Tel Aviv regime, he said.

The second message was that Palestinians have formed a national resistance, which involves all political and social groups, the political added.

Barghouti went on to say that the protests also conveyed the message that the Palestinian nation has not accepted the US peace plan, also known as “the deal of century”.

Thousands of Palestinians in Gaza took part on Friday in the mass protests to support the return of Palestinian refugees and their descendants to their former homes in the occupied territories.

Israeli security forces killed at least 18 protesters and injured more than 1,400 others, according to media reports.
