Iran Condemns Deadly Suicide Blasts in Pakistan

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran seriously condemned two terrorist bomb attacks in Parchinar, Pakistan, which claimed dozens of lives and left many more wounded.

“The Iranian government and people condole with the Pakistani people and express deep sympathy with the bereaved family members of the victims of this horrendous terrorist act,” Foreign Ministry Spokesman Abbas Araqchi said Saturday night.

The Iranian diplomat added the move is in line with the ominous goals pursued against the interests of both the Pakistani nation and the Islamic world.

Araqchi also expressed hope that the Pakistani government would effectively deal with the perpetrators of terrorist acts and prevent repetition of such sad events.

The twin bomb attacks which hit a market in a Shiite-dominated region of northwest Pakistan on Friday night, killed 57 people and injured 167 others in the town of Parachinar, right on the Afghan border.

They struck as the market was busy ahead of the ‘Iftar’ meal, which breaks the daytime fast during the holy month of Ramadan.
