TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Indonesian Ambassador to Tehran Dian Wirengjurit admired the late Founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, for his wise initiative to mobilize Muslims’ supports for the Palestinian nation, and regarded the move as a way to free Palestine.

Addressing the International Conference on Palestine, the Indonesian ambassador voiced his country’s support for the Palestinian nation.

“Indonesian people are part of Muslims of the Islamic world, and will support the Palestinian nation as well,” Wirengjurit pointed out, and urged world’s entire nations to advocate Palestine.

In a separate development on Sunday, Iran's Society for the Defense of Palestinian Nation (SDPN) held a conference in Tehran to discuss the significance of the upcoming International Quds Day.

In August 1979, Imam Khomeini, designated the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as the International Quds Day, and called on Muslims across the world to hold rallies to show their solidarity with Palestinians.
