Iran Likely to Play Friendly against Chile

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran's national soccer squad is likely to play a friendly match against Chile, a senior official at the Iranian Football Federation (IFF) announced.

Secretary General of the Iranian Football Federation Mehdi Mohammad Nabi told Tasnim Friday that Iran's national soccer team will likely travel to Europe or South America in the next Iranian month (August 23 - September 22).

“Chile and two other countries are the options we have negotiated with, but no decision has been made yet and we are waiting for (Iranian team’s Head Coach Carlos) Quiroz's decision,” Nabi stated.

Nabi refrained from naming the other two countries with whose football teams the Iranian team  may play friendly games.

Iran is preparing itself for the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil.

On July 18, Iran's streets were filled with young revelers after the Iranian national soccer team qualified for the 2014 World Cup with a win over South Korea.
