Javier Solana to Meet Iran’s Parliament Speaker Tonight

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Former European Union Foreign Policy Chief Javier Solana is scheduled to meet Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani on Saturday evening, an Iranian lawmaker announced.

“The meeting will take place at 21:30 (1700 GMT) in which the latest world’s political and economic topics are going to be discussed,” Hossein Sheikholeslam, an advisor to Iran’s Parliament speaker, told Tasnim today.

Javier Solana arrived in Tehran on Saturday morning to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the Iranian President-elect Hassan Rouhani.

Sheikholeslam added that Larijani will also have separate meetings with vice presidents of Cuba and Nicaragua.

Rouhani will take the oath in parliament as Iran’s seventh president tomorrow after the endorsement of his presidency by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.
