Iranian, Brazilian FMs Stress Expansion of Mutual Ties

TEHRAN (Tasnim)- Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi and his Brazilian counterpart, Antonio Patriot, in a meeting in Tehran explored avenues for the further expansion of relations between the two countries.

During the meeting between held here in Tehran today, the two sides expressed their countries' preparedness to expand mutual ties in various fields, economy in particular.

The Brazilian foreign minister, for his part, stressed Iran has great development capacities, adding that Brazil has always taken Iran as an important partner in its economic relations.

"My visit to Tehran highlights Iran’s importance for Brazil".

Also during the meeting, Salehi called Brazil "an important country", adding that Tehran is prepared to expand its ties with Brasilia in various fields.

Patriota is visiting Iran to take part in sworn-in ceremony of Iranian new president Hassan Rohani.

Senior foreign leaders and officials are arriving in the Iranian capital city to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Iran's new President Hassan Rouhani.

He will take oath before the parliament as Iran’s seventh president on August 4th, after today’s endorsement of his presidency by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei. Hassan Rouhani emerged victorious in the presidential election on June 14, which was marked by a high voter turnout.
