Iranian, Japanese Diplomats Discuss Strengthening of Mutual Cooperation

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Senior Iranian and Japanese diplomats in a meeting in Tokyo on Tuesday explored ways of closer cooperation between the two countries in different regional and international fields.

Head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Department for Iranian Expatriates’ Affairs Seyed Kazem Sajjadi had a meeting with Director of the Middle East and Europe Department of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Koe Noma in Tokyo.

“JICA is ready to expand its cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran in various fields including natural disaster management, environmental protection and reconstruction of Afghanistan,” Noma said during the meeting held at  JICA’s headquarters in Tokyo.

He also expressed the hope for development of Iran-Japan ties in all arenas in the near future.

The Iranian official, for his part, hailed the Japanese agency for its admirable performance and active presence in Iran over more than 50 years, and called for enhancement of JICA’s activities in his country.
