Iran Moves Up Three Places at FIVB World Rankings

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran has climbed three places to seventh at the men's International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) senior world rankings.

Following its good performance at Rio 2016, the Iranian team moved up three places in the rankings.

Brazil has cemented its position at the top of the rankings following its victory at Rio 2016, while China's gold medal was enough to see it jumps two places to the summit of the women's list.

Brazil followed by Poland, the USA, Italy, Russia and Argentina.

Brazil claimed its first men's Olympic volleyball title for 12 years this summer after managing only silver at both Beijing 2008 and London 2012.

Egypt made the biggest leap in the rankings as they jumped eight places to reach number 12.
