Armed Forces: Iran's Defense Sector Capable of Competing at Trans-Regional Levels

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Armed Forces General Staff on Wednesday reaffirmed that the country is fully prepared to counter all enemies’ threats, and stressed that Iran’s military achievements in defense sector are capable enough to compete at trans-regional levels.

“With their comprehensiveness and exemplary advantages, the country’s defense achievements have the required capabilities to compete at trans-regional levels,” the Iranian Armed Forces General Staff said in a statement issued on the occasion of the National Day of the Defense Industry (August 22).

“Development of science-based networks and the increased speed of achieving indigenous and advanced defense systems and technologies (by Iran) have now provided a model for independent countries and nations,” the statement underlined.

In relevant remarks on Tuesday, Iran’s Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan announced that the country's defense industries can contribute to lasting peace and stability in the region and serve as a model for other Muslim and regional countries.

“The Iranian defense industries are the symbol of the Islamic Iran’s might, progress, and self-sufficiency and the harbinger of sustainable regional peace and stability. It can also serve as a role model for the entire Muslim and freedom-seeking nations,” Dehqan said.

In recent years, the Islamic Republic of Iran has made great achievements in its defense sector and has attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems.

Tehran has repeatedly assured other nations that its military might poses no threat to other countries, saying that the Islamic Republic’s defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence.
