Several Saudi Forces Killed in Yemeni Army’s Attack on Jizan

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Yemen’s army troops and popular committees in a retaliatory attack on the Saudi forces in the kingdom’s southwestern province of Jizan killed a number of the enemy forces and destroyed six of their military vehicles.

The Yemeni forces mounted the attack against the Saudi positions in al-Farizah in Jizan Province, the Arabic-language al-Masirah television network reported.

Several Saudi forces were killed and six vehicles and a military ammunition depot were destroyed in the offensive, according to the report.

It was launched in retaliation for the continued attacks on civilians in the Arabian Peninsula country by the Saudi-led coalition.

A military source said during the attack, Apache helicopters of the Saudi-led coalition attempted in vain to prevent the advances of the Yemeni forces.

Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition for nearly two years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been launching deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

Nearly 11,000 Yemenis, mostly civilians, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
