US Lacks Courage to Attack Iran: IRGC General

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy commander said Iran’s military capabilities have grown so enormously that the US would not dare to take action against the country.

Although the US enmity towards Iran has been increasing day by day over the past years, Washington does not dare to take any military action against the Islamic Republic, Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi said in a television talk show on Sunday night.

He then referred to a US document listing four military preconditions and 9 political prerequisites for an offensive against Iran, saying the US has failed to meet those conditions, otherwise, it would have not wasted a moment to launch an attack.

The commander then underlined that what has kept the shadow of war away from Iran has been the active presence of people and their support for the Islamic Republic.

Earlier on Sunday, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei hailed people’s companionship with the establishment and popular supports as the factors that have rid Iran of “the specter of war”, dismissing claims by certain officials about their role in averting armed conflicts.

“Sometimes we hear some say, or have said before, that ‘when we came and assumed office, we managed to rid the country of the specter of war’, but these remarks are not correct, and the fact is that throughout the years, the presence of the (Iranian) nation in the scene has eliminated the specter of war and aggression against Iran,” Ayatollah Khamenei said in an address to a gathering of workers in Tehran.
