84 Saudi Mercenaries Killed in Yemeni Forces’ New Attacks

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The forces of the Yemeni army and Popular Committees, in retaliation for continued acts of aggression by the Saudi-led coalition, launched counterattacks against mercenaries of the Riyadh regime, killing 84 of them in Nihm District in the Sana'a Province.

A Yemeni military source said the army and popular forces  have carried out a massive operation to prevent the Saudi mercenaries from advancing in Nihm District over the past two days.

In the operations, 84 enemy forces, including some commanders of the mercenaries, have been killed, the source said, according to Yemen’s state news agency.

In another development, the missile command of the Yemeni army fired two homegrown ballistic missiles dubbed “Zelzal 2” at a gathering of the Saudi forces in the kingdom’s Jizan province.

The attacks by the Yemeni forces were carried out in retaliation for the continued massacre of civilians by the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen.

Since March 25, 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to Yemen’s fugitive former president.

According to Yemen’s Legal Center of Rights and Development, the Saudi campaign has claimed the lives of over 12,000 Yemenis and left more than 20,000 others wounded.
