7.8-Magnitude Earthquake Jolts Pakistan

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - An earthquake measuring 7.8 magnitude in the Richter scale hit Pakistan’s southwestern regions on Tuesday with strong tremors being felt in many parts of the region.

The United States Geological Survey said that a 7.8 magnitude quake struck 145 miles southeast of Dalbandin, in Pakistan's province of Balochistan.

It struck the area at 16:29 local time (1129 GMT) at a depth of 23km (15 miles),USGS added.

A report by Reuters said that the quake was felt in the Indian capital of New Delhi where buildings shook.
