Armenia’s PM Due in Iran Monday

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan will pay a two-day visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran on October 9 at the invitation of Iran’s First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri.

The head of the Armenian government will sit down with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Jahangiri and the country’s Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani, the official website of Armenia’s Public Radio reported on Saturday.

Karapetyan will also visit Ararat Sports Club in Tehran where he is scheduled to meet with representatives of the local Armenian community, including the business community.

In December, in a high-profile meeting in Yerevan attended by the presidents of the two countries, ranking officials from Iran and Armenia signed five documents, including an agreement on using a joint border crossing linking Iran’s Norduz to Armenia’s Meghri.
