Bahrainis Condemn Regime’s Move to Send Delegation to Occupied Palestine

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Bahraini citizens launched a campaign on social media to voice their outrage at the Al Khalifa regime’s recent move to send a political delegation to the occupied territories in a bid to normalize ties with Israel.

The Bahraini people launched a spontaneous campaign on Twitter to condemn Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for sending the delegation to the occupied territories, the Arabic-language Al Manar TV reported.

Thousands of Bahraini citizens, activists, and political figures have joined the campaign titled “Bahrain Resists against Normalization”.

They have underlined that the delegation is not representing the Persian Gulf country’s people but it is the representative of the Al Khalifa regime.

The Bahraini delegation arrived in Israel with a message from the country’s king in the latest attempt to warm ties between the Manama and Tel Aviv regimes.

The 24-member delegation’s trip was made after US President Donald Trump recognized al-Quds (Jerusalem) as Israel’s capital, a move condemned across the Muslim world.

Most Arab governments have no official diplomatic relations with Israel. Even so, reports have indicated that several of them, including Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, have had secret relations with Tel Aviv.
