Iran Futsal Team Defeats Azerbaijan in Friendly
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran national futsal team defeated Azerbaijan 4-1 in Baku on Wednesday.
Hossein Tayyebi, Abolghasem Orouji, Farhad Tavakkoli and Moslem Oladghaba scored for the Iranian team.
Iran drew 3-3 with Azerbaijan in its first friendly match on Tuesday.
Iran, who is preparing for its defense of the AFC Futsal Championship title – which will be held in Chinese Taipei on February 1-11 – has been drawn in Group C alongside Iraq, China PR and Myanmar.
Sixteen teams are divided into four groups with the top two sides in each section advancing to the knockout phase.
Iran won its 11th AFC Futsal Championship title after beating Uzbekistan 2-1 in the final of the 2016 edition.
