Iran Battling Enemy on Economic Front: Interior Minister

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli warned of the enemy’s ongoing plots to undermine the country’s power and said the Islamic Republic is battling on the economic front.

In a speech in the southern port city of Bandar Abbas on Tuesday night, Rahmani Fazli pointed to the upcoming anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution and said over the past 39 years, the revolution has moved forward with the unity and solidarity of the Iranian nation.

The enemy has used any means needed to destroy a country, including threats and sanctions, he said, adding that the enemy has nonetheless failed in the face of Iranians.

Today, Iran is battling the enemy on the economic front, and nobody should neglect this, the minister warned.

In order to foil enemy attempts at undermining Iran’s economy, the country has adopted a series of major polices.

Back in August, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani vowed to take fundamental steps to combat unemployment and improve the country’s economy based on the policies of the Resistance Economy in his second term in office.

In 2014, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei sent a proclamation to heads of Iran’s branches of power and outlined general policies to boost the country’s economy and lower its vulnerabilities under a grand plan, dubbed Resistance Economy.
