Iran Dismisses US State Department’s Human Rights Report as ‘Biased’

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry rejected as “baseless, biased and politically-motivated” the latest human rights report issued by the US Department of State against Tehran.

In comments on Saturday, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi said Tehran deems the US State Department’s report, especially the allegations of human rights violations in Iran, as completely biased and politically-motivated.

“The report portrays a distorted and unrealistic picture of the human rights situation in Iran,” he underlined.

As certified by many internationally reliable reports, the US government is widely viewed not only as one of the major human rights violators across the world, but also a sponsor of human rights violators like the Zionist regime and some reactionary states in the Middle East, Qassemi added.

The US government had better adopt immediate measures to improve the human rights situation inside America and address human rights violations by its allies in the world, he concluded.
