Yemen Army Foils Saudi-Led Infiltration Attempt into Sa’ada

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Yemeni forces managed to repel an infiltration attempt by Saudi-paid mercenaries trying to attack their positions in the province of Sa’ada.

The Saudi-backed militants on Friday attempted to sneak into Mandaba area in Baqim district in the province of Sa'ada, Saba news agency reported.

They launched the attack from the kingdom's southern region of Asir, but were pushed back after the Yemeni troops shelled them.

A number of the militants lost their lives during the shelling.

In a separate development, the Yemeni army pounded the positions of Saudi troops in the al-Alab border crossing in retaliation for the Riyadh regime's incessant aerial bombardment campaign against the impoverished and beleaguered country.

Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition for over three years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

Over 14,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
